Safe Places for Youth Central Illinois

Safe Places for Youth Central Illinois is a non-profit organization that was developed as a grass roots response to youth homelessness in our area. We provide emergency through long term shelter and services for homeless youth and young adults. We seek to prevent youth homelessness by providing support to teens, young adults, and their families, including respite care during family conflict.

Our model is based on kinship, the idea that we can be the extended family that so many youth and families need. We provide shelter and care in licensed host homes and are opening a centralized facility for young adults and families soon. This is our community, and these are our youth. No young person should ever be homeless or without a safe place to be.
