Gross Named HICF Board Trustee

For our foundation to serve Macon, Moultrie and Piatt Counties with strategic generosity, it is essential local voices are part of our HICF staff and decision-making board of trustees. We are thrilled to welcome Michelle Gross as our first HICF Board Trustee who lives in Piatt County!

Michelle is the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, Information Systems Officer, and Director of the State Bank of Bement. She has been the Community Bank President of the State Bank of Bement – Monticello facility since 2017.Gross joined the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago’s Board of Directors in 2015 and served in several pivotal roles, including Vice Chair, Chair of the Human Resource & Compensation Committee, Member of the Executive and Governance Committee, Member of the Audit Committee and Past Member of the Risk Management Committee and Operations and Technology Committee. In addition, Gross serves as a Delegate to the Council of Federal Home Loan Banks on behalf of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago.

She is active in a variety of community service activities including as Past Chairman of the Illinois Bankers Association (IBA) and has held numerous leadership posts in the IBA during the past decade, including being a member of the Association’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

In addition to serving the banking industry, she is committed to serving her Piatt County community. Currently, Michelle is on the Board of Directors of Kirby Medical Center, where she serves as Treasurer and a member of their Executive Committee. She also is Chair of the Bement Foundation, which supports local schools, Choir Director of the First Presbyterian Church, Bement, a member of the Monticello Rotary Club, founding board member of the Sangamon Valley CEO Entrepreneurial Program and a former Village of Bement Trustee.

Michelle is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wis., and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Illinois University.
