Professional Development and Training Dollars Available for Nonprofits
Macon, Moultrie and Piatt Counties – Starting today, area nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply for up to $1,500 in microgrants per organization to fund professional development programs. The application deadline is Monday, February 17, and selected nonprofit organizations will receive their individual grant awards in March.
“It’s crucial for nonprofit staff to stay on top of trends and strategies, as well as technology advancements,” said Natalie Beck, HICF CEO. “However, we know many nonprofits can’t afford professional training within their operating budgets. The microgrant program removes this financial barrier.”
The application, available at 2025 microgrants, takes just a few minutes to complete. Microgrants may be used for these expenses:
- Conference registration and associated travel costs
- Course enrollment
- Board development
- Webinars
- Workbooks/books/toolkits
- Online resources
- Customized training
