Database of Potential Macon County Nonprofit Board Members

A strong nonprofit board of directors is crucial for an organization's ability to serve its mission. However, nonprofits often struggle to find qualified and interested individuals who are eager to serve on a board of directors. The Heart of Illinois Community Foundation in partnership with Bruce Nims, seeks to develop qualified board member candidates and create a pool from which local nonprofit organizations may recruit board leadership.

The below candidates have completed the Introduction to Board Governance course presented by Bruce Nims, Decatur businessman and active community leader, in partnership with the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation. This course identifies the responsibilities and expectations involved in board service, while teaching how to be an effective and prepared board member, so these leaders can experience the satisfaction of being a part of our community's success.

Each individual below is interested in board service. Please click the "email" button to contact any individual you are interested in.

If you are a course graduate and need to update your profile, or if you are a nonprofit needing assistance navigating the database, please contact Rachel Moran at rmoran@heartofillinois.org.
