26 Nonprofits and Churches Awarded $149,000 in Grants From Macon County Food Insecurity Fund
Macon County – This Fall, twenty-six nonprofits and churches were selected to receive $149,000 in grants from the Macon County Food Insecurity Fund, a fund established at The Community Foundation of Macon County (CFMC) to alleviate food insecurity in the community.
“At this time of Thanksgiving, the CFMC is grateful for the opportunity to provide grant funding for several food pantries and churches feeding our community members in need,” says Natalie Beck, CFMC President. “We were also humbled that over $22,000 of the funding was due to a 100% CFMC board trustee/staff grant match. We were thrilled to be able to help such a worthwhile cause as increasing access to food and basic needs.”
