COVID-19 Emergency Response Funding - Round 1 Grants
$37,500 distributed in relief funding
COVID-19 Emergency Response grants will continue to be swiftly deployed to local community nonprofits to support residents in need of:
- Emergency food and basic supplies
- Interim housing and shelter
- Utility and financial assistance
- Support for children and other vulnerable populations, and
- Nonprofit safety and operations assistance
First-round funding has been issued to the following organizations:
- Northeast Community Fund - $5,000 Food pantry support
- Decatur Family YMCA - $5,000 Childcare site for front line medical/emergency management staff
- Baby Talk - $5,000 Clorox wipes, non-contact thermometers, virtual contact program development
- Macon County CASA - $5,000 Tablets, printer/scanner for remote field work
- DOVE - $5,000 Financial assistance for individual water and power bills, and medicine
- God’s Shelter of Love - $5,000 Operations assistance
- Boys & Girls Club - $2,500 Food/activity baskets for children in need
- Richland Community College - $2,500 For food pantry, free lunch services
- InterChurch Food Pantry - $2,500 Food pantry serving Blue Mound, Macon, Boody and Stonington
