Microgrant Funding Announced
Eleven Macon County Legacy nonprofit organizations are receiving a total of $12,549 in Microgrant funding.
Microgrants are targeted to help fund professional development and training opportunities for Macon County Legacy staff and board members.“Nonprofit organizations often struggle to find budget dollars to provide professional development opportunities for their staff and board members,” said HICF Vice President Missy Batman. “This targeted funding can help successfully build nonprofit capacity.” Batman coordinates the annual microgrant program, which began in 2010 following a lead gift from The Lumpkin Family Foundation.
Since the Microgrant funding programs inception, more than $146,000 has been granted for Macon County nonprofit professional staff and volunteer development. The 2024 Microgrants recipients and individual grant awards are as follows:
