Rachel Moran awarded the Certified Fund Raising Executive Designation

Macon County – Rachel Moran has been named a CFRE International Certified Fund Raising Executive. Moran, The Community Foundation of Macon County’s Director of Communications, joins over 7,700 professionals around the world who hold the CFRE designation, 304 of which are in Illinois.

Individuals earning the CFRE credential have met a series of standards set by CFRE International which include tenure in the profession, education, and demonstrated fundraising achievement. They have also passed a rigorous exam testing the knowledge skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive.

“Rachel is an exceptional fundraising executive who cultivates and maintains excellent donor relationships,” said CFMC CEO Natalie Beck, who has also earned the CFRE designation. “It’s an honor to work with a professional at Rachel’s level of expertise. We know this certification is a voluntary achievement, which demonstrates Rachel’s high level of commitment to the fundraising profession, and foundation donors who are served.”

Moran joined the foundation in 2022 and said earning this designation was an important goal for her professionally and personally. “The foundation is committed to transparency," said Moran. "This certification provides another layer of trust signifying we’re committed to honoring the intent of every gift.”

Moran earned her associate degree at Richland Community College and completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication at Millikin University and Illinois State University. She also earned her Certificate in Fundraising Management from The Fundraising School at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
