She Gave Women’s Giving Circle Unites Changemakers

She Gave aims to engage women of all generations in the power of philanthropy

Macon County – The Community Foundation of Macon County (CFMC) announces the launch of the She Gave Women’s Giving Circle, uniting women to fund transformative change. By aggregating individual giving into high impact grants, the giving circle connects members to each other, to Macon County nonprofits, churches and educational groups and the communities they serve.

“Together, through collaborative giving and decision-making, we can each become transformational forces in our community and our own lives,” said Natalie Beck, CFMC president. In its inaugural year, the She Gave Giving Circle will award at least $20,000 in April 2024 thanks to the endowment fund’s establishing gift from the estate of Ann Haab.

“Ann passed away earlier this year after a lifetime of showing up for our community – selflessly, graciously, and with deep love for others,” said Beck. ”After retiring from a career as an elementary school teacher, Ann was one of the first females to chair area capital campaigns, emerging as a trailblazer for women’s philanthropy. She received a Woman of Impact award in 1994. It is fitting our foundation’s first women’s giving circle is launched as part of Ann’s legacy.”

The She Gave Giving Circle invites community-minded women to pool their donations and decide together how to best invest in programs that support and empower women and girls in Macon County. The goal for the giving circle is to grow to 200 annual members. To become a founding member, a minimum annual contribution is required as well as the completion of a short application form.

Members make a minimum annual contribution, $500 for women 40 and over, $250 for women 39 and under, or $5,000 for a lifetime membership, and are entitled to invitations to She Gave VIP activities and events and to cast a vote at an annual meeting to decide how the circle’s pooled funds should be granted to local organizations.
