Scholarship/Grant Received: Susan and Lloyd Swanson Memorial Scholarship

The Susan and Lloyd Swanson Memorial Scholarship holds a lot of meaning for the Borowczyk family. Hailey, Kimberly, and Madeline attended Sangamon Valley High School and all three received the Susan and Lloyd Swanson Memorial Scholarship upon graduation. This scholarship provides $1,000 for each year of college so long as the student is making adequate progress towards a degree which could total up to $4,000 per recipient. The Borowczyk sisters received a combined total of $12,000 in scholarship funding thanks to the generosity of donors to The Community Foundation of Macon County.

Hailey graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Professional Masters of Food Safety and Training. She is currently employed as a Supplier Quality Analyst for a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Company in Queens, New York City, NY where she works on the personal care side of the business.

“Thank you very much for helping me get through college. I appreciate the financial help. The scholarship was used toward tuition and helped bring down the loan total I had to take out.” - Hailey Borowczyk

Kimberly attended Ashford University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics with a focus on Secondary Education. She is in the midst of her fourth year of teaching high school math in the district which hired her immediately after graduation in Northern Iowa. Madeline (now Henebry) attended Southeast Missouri State University where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. She currently lives in Minneapolis, MN with her husband and is employed as a recruiter for a nationwide parking company.
