TECH GO Camp

The $10,000 Impact100 Grant to TECH GO camp provides Macon County students the opportunity to learn about manufacturing, robotics, 3-D printing, drones and automation through experience with hands-on and computer-based learning.

TECH GO camp serves more than 100 middle and high school students throughout Macon County. The camp provides students the opportunity to learn about manufacturing, robotics, 3-D printing, drones and automation through experience with hands-on and computer-based learning. TECH GO camp is held over a four-week period in June and July. Although the program has the capacity to grow on campus, student transportation provides a barrier that negatively impacts participant enrollment. By removing the barrier of transportation, the program can provide access to more students, allowing them to experiencing technology utilized in the local manufacturing environment and on the Richland campus. The program's goal is to increase the number of students who participate and benefit from this camp by 33 percent, along with increasing workplace site visits to six.
