The Darrell and Ursula Beck Family Fund

The Heart of Illinois Community Foundation is honored Darrell and Ursula Beck chose HICF as their philanthropic partner during their lifetimes and that we have been entrusted to steward their continuing support for the causes they cared about.

Annually, The Darrell and Ursula Beck Family Fund provides a grant to support the USTA/Ursula Beck Pro Tennis Classic-22nd Annual, coordinated by the Decatur Community Tennis Foundation, a not-for-profit organization.

Ursula, who passed away in 2004, was the seven-time Decatur Recreation Department Girls Junior Tennis Champion. As an adult, she was the Millikin University women's tennis coach.

Darrell, who passed away in 2011, was an entrepreneur and business owner, establishing multiple endowed funds to support educational scholarships and quality of life in Macon County.

"The Beck Family has sponsored this tournament for 22 years and the Park District puts in additional money to keep the courts up so we can have the tournaments," said Beck Classic tournament director Chuck Kuhle. "We could not have this tournament without their support."
